Making a Kozo Cloak

Making my first costume for my final year. I’ve been working with some fairly unusual materials, this cloak is made from kozo. Kozo is mulberry tree bark and is traditionally used to make paper in Japan. It can also be soaked and pulled apart into these odd lace- like panels. Here is a little bit of the process for the cloak. Including some help from Dave the dog and Selkie the cat!

The last image is the finished cloak on the model, but there is lots more work to be done on the rest of the costume.
